Position Summary

The temporary Talent Acquisition Assistant provides continuous support to the Talent Acquisition team. Responsibilities include posting jobs, sourcing and interviewing candidates, conducting reference checks, utilizing our applicant tracking system (iCIMS), registering for career fairs, processing invoices, running/analyzing reports and providing administrative support as needed.

Position Objective/Purpose

ESF (Education, Sports and Fun) is in the people development business, offering a wide variety of camps designed to provide the finest camp experience for our families and team members.  Since our “product” is our people, a strategic talent acquisition “engine” is critical to our ongoing success.

Essential Job Responsibilities

  • Check team e-mail and voicemails daily and respond to all inquiries
  • Perform multiple employment verifications daily
  • Process Act 168 forms daily
  • Research pricing, register for career fairs, process invoices, update master calendar and create fairs as events in iCIMS applicant tracking database
  • Conduct research on best places to post open jobs (websites, organizations, social media, etc.)
  • Post jobs for all sites/regions:
    • Free college websites
    • Paid search engines (American Camp Association, Craigslist, Allcampjobs, Bafefoot, etc.)
  • Create job descriptions as needed and update job postings in iCIMS applicant tracking database
  • Conduct full life-cycle recruitment responsibilities for certain sites; phone screen candidates, conduct in-person interviews, complete reference checks, process employment agreement, run background checks and confirm training dates
  • Run basic reports in iCIMS applicant tracking database and enter performance data as needed
  • Assist Regional Managing Director with training projects throughout the year:
    • Manage all training events invitations and RSVPs
    • Assist with year-round training logistics
    • Manage training feedback surveys
    • Help perform data analysis
    • Revise the Site Director binder
  • Organize and finalize all site recap binders
  • Create and send CEU certificates
  • Attend career fairs, open houses, camp fairs, etc.
  • Fill-in consistently for Aftercare and Enrichment as on-site Instructor during the year and as a Counselor in August supervising children ages 3-15

Experience Requirements


  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Minimum one (1) year of experience in recruiting
  • Previous experience using iCIMS or similar web-based applicant tracking system
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (written and verbal) a must
  • Ability to manage multiple time sensitive priorities while building strong working relationships with others
  • Must be a detail-oriented with strong analytical and organizational skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements


  • Minimum 40 hours per week during non-peak season; up to 50 hours per week during peak season
  • This position involves extended periods of time at a computer workstation
  • Some local travel and occasional distance travel to events and to ESF camp sites
