  • Position Summary

    A Union Soccer Schools Division Specialist is responsible for the supervision of campers and Team members within their Division.  They assist in monitoring the organization, supervision, implementation and administration of all activities and schedules.

    Position Objective/Purpose

    We are seeking motivated team members who believe deeply in the organization’s mission and who display a record of achievement in effective supervision & management of youth as it pertains to this position. Candidates must be capable of teaching the fundamentals of soccer, building positive relationships, providing top-notch customer service and ensuring the safety and well-being of people of all ages. This position will require the candidate to complete multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment while maintaining the professional standards of ESF/Union Soccer Schools. 

    Position Scope Factors

    • Multiple locations in New Jersey and Delaware
    • Some travel required (Examples include but are not limited to the following areas: Delran, NJ, Cherry Hill, NJ, Lawrenceville, NJ and Wilmington, Delaware)
    • Monday -Thursday 7:00a-4:15p, Friday 7:00a-4:00p
    • Union Division Specialists are hired in the following age groups; 
      • La Liga: ages 6 & 7
      • Serie A: ages 8 & 9
      • Premier: ages 10 & 11
      • First Team: ages 12 – 14

    Essential Job Responsibilities

    1. Group supervision of campers with attention to: behavior and group management, health, safety, security, and personal and skill development
    2. Teach age-appropriate soccer skills and techniques in a progressive sequence to boys and girls ages 6 to 14
    3. Follow and execute ESF/Union Soccer Schools curriculum on a daily basis. In addition, create personalized session plans pertaining to the skill focus of the day
    4. Supervise campers during check-in/out process while recording times of arrival and dismissal on a daily basis
    5. Make sure the coaches are conducting head counts always
    6. Promote and oversee all camper activities
    7. Coach, manage, or assist with all camp programs
    8. Maintain supervision during times of transition from one spot on campus to another, including snack and lunch breaks
    9. Monitor coaches to ensure assigned paperwork is completed in a timely fashion in accordance with the standards of the Field Manager
    10. Take the lead in identifying and selecting award winners for our awards ceremony at the end of each week
    11. Oversee sign-in and sign-out of all campers 
    12. Monitor the organization, supervision, and administration of all field trips
    13. Through a hands on approach, instruct and mentor Team Coaches assigned within their Division
    14. Assist in preparing Team Coaches to successfully facilitate instructional stations
    15. Model behavior & group management strategies for Team Coaches
    16. Serve as a positive role model to campers
    17. Maintain an attitude of professionalism while meeting Union players and coaches during Talen Energy Stadium field trips
    18. Follow the Union Code and maintain the Union Look at all times
    19. Provide input and assist in conducting mid and end of summer evaluations
    20. Identify and meet camper needs ages 6-14
    21. Exhibit ESF Core Values at all times and to adhere to all company policies
    22. Other responsibilities as assigned
    23. Assist and support the Field/Operations Manager in any camp operation or activity

    Experience Requirements

    1. Previous experience working with children in a supervisory or administrative capacity
    2. Performance management and facilitation experience (preferred)
    3. Professional (MLS affiliate, WPS affiliate or USL Pro Leagues), collegiate or high school soccer coaching experience (preferred)
    4. Former soccer playing experience (required)
      1. Professional soccer player (MLS affiliate, WPS affiliate or USL Pro Leagues)
      2. Collegiate player (Division I-III, JUCO, NAIA)
      3. Varsity High School player
    5. 1 – 3 years administrative/leadership experience (required)
    6. Staff supervision experience (required)
    7. Youth coaching experience (required)

    Certification Requirements

    1. First Aid/CPR (preferred)

    Education Requirements

    1. Bachelor’s Degree

    Other Skill Requirements

    1. Outstanding communication skills which include the ability to use clear, concise and grammatically correct written and oral language in all aspects of professional interaction with campers, their families, peers, leadership team and the larger community


    Reporting Relationships

    1. Reports directly to and takes direction from Field Manager and Operations Manager. May also take direction from and is overall accountable to the Regional Managing Director.  

    Working Conditions and Physical Requirements

    1. Ability to push/pull, lift and carry a minimum of 35lbs
    2. Endurance to work outside and on your feet for 6-8 hours per day
    3. Ability to respond to emergency situations which may require running (up to 1 mile in some cases) and climbing stairs.
    4. Good physical condition which enables candidate to execute all responsibilities associated with this position
