  • Position Summary

    Digital Photography Specialists are responsible for immersing students in our exciting technology curriculum while guiding them through the creative/design thinking process. In addition to constantly supervising students. Technology Specialists/Teachers promote and actively participate in all camp activities, may lead recreational periods outside of class, provide a safe and fun learning environment, and serve as a positive role models for students and faculty/staff.

    Program Description(s):

    • See the world through a new lens, as you learn how to take photographs and edit them like a pro! Explore photography techniques, learn about digital camera functionality, gain hands-on experience taking photographs and discover how to digitally enhance your images using graphic design software on a computer. No prior experience with digital cameras or graphic design is necessary. All skill levels are welcome.

    • Work daily in classrooms and cover multiple technology topics
    • Implement curriculum and organize/prepare daily lessons plans
    • Inspire students to think creatively, critically, and innovatively
    • Empower students to explore the world around them and solve real-life, practical issues
    • Impart your knowledge and expertise as an instructor, resource and guide
    • Lead students in the learning process through the use of 21st century skills such as: innovation, creativity, communication, critical thinking, problem solving, ethical decision making, collaboration, teamwork, time management, empathy, and leadership
    • Use effective classroom management skills and create a fun environment where everyone feels included
    • Communicate effectively using clear, concise and grammatically correct written and oral language in all aspects of professional interaction with campers, families, peers and leadership 
    • Work effectively with fellow team members and collaborate on daily responsibilities
    • Provide oversight and instruction for your support counselors
    • Complete assigned paperwork
    • Serve as a positive role model to students
    • Follow the ESF Code and maintain the ESF Look at all times
    • Exhibit ESF Core Values at all times and adhere to all company policies
    • Attend all required pre-camp trainings and submit necessary background check paperwork
    • Have fun!


    Experience Requirements

    • Two, or more, years of classroom and/or camp experience (or comparable experience)
    • Previous experience using technology in a classroom
    • Must have previous experience teaching children
    • The ability to quickly troubleshoot, and repair, simple PC/Technology problems and errors

    Education Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree
    • Teaching certification (preferred)

    Reporting Relationships

    • Reports to and takes direction from Director of Riveredge. 

    Working Conditions and Physical Requirements

    • Ability to push/pull, lift and carry a minimum of 35lbs
    • Endurance to work outside and on your feet for 6-8 hours per day
    • Ability to respond to emergency situations which may require running (up to 1 mile in some cases) and climbing stairs.
    • Good physical condition which enables candidate to execute all responsibilities associated with this position
