  • Position Summary

    The Talent Acquisition Director is responsible and accountable for leading the hiring process in order to staff ESF’s nine (9) week Day Camp for children ages 4 to 15 at Greenwich Academy. In addition to performing high volume recruitment (hiring up to 115 summer team members) from September through June, The Talent Acquisition Director is responsible for running camp on-site in Greenwich, CT (mid-June through mid-August). Onsite during the summer, the Talent Acquisition Director functions as the “Assistant Site Director” supervising all team members and campers, providing customer service for campers and their families, developing and evaluating staff, and ensuring the overall success of ESF at Greenwich Academy. The Talent Acquisition Director is also responsible for executing all staff hiring and retention processes and training summer team members.

    Throughout the year, the Talent Acquisition Director handles different responsibilities to prepare for the start of camp each summer.  During this time, they participate in community events and plan grass-root marketing initiatives to strategically recruit camp families and staff. They attend career fairs, interview candidates, perform background checks, hire/onboard top talent and execute training events. As the “Assistant Site Director” during the summer months, they oversee operations, logistics, hiring, camper satisfaction and staff performance.

    Position Objective/Purpose

    We are seeking motivated team members who believe deeply in the organization’s mission and who display strong organizational skills and a keen eye for talent. This individual is responsible for implementing ESF’s high volume recruitment processes in order to fully staff our summer camp. The candidate must be capable of building positive relationships, providing top-notch customer service, and ensuring the safety and well-being of campers and staff. This position will require the candidate to complete multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment while always maintaining the professional standards of ESF.

    Position Scope Factors

    The Talent Acquisition Director is employed on a full-time year-round basis and fulfills a seasonal on-site “Assistant Site Director” leadership position with ESF at Greenwich Academy during the summer months. ESF’s Headquarters office is located in Bryn Mawr, PA, so occasional travel to Bryn Mawr for meetings is required.

    Essential Job Responsibilities

    Talent Acquisition Director Job Responsibilities (Year-Round):                                                               

    • Accountable for hiring approximately 115 summer team members for ESF’s Day Camp at Greenwich Academy 
    • Ensure all team members are fully on-boarded and have completed training prior to their first day of camp
    • Re-recruit veteran team members to achieve above-average alumni return rates
    • Responsible for new and existing college relations that feed talent for summer positions
    • Implement innovative sourcing techniques to recruit top talent in order to maintain large candidate pool
    • Manage parent panel process and the Ambassador Parent Program
    • Responsible for representing ESF at community events and open houses
    • Lead continuous improvement of department processes annually
    • Support the early bird launch and promote standard season programming with marketing outreach initiatives
    • During the off-season, support training development, program development and continuous improvement efforts
    • Other responsibilities as assigned

    • Work with Administrative Specialist & ESF Enrollment Coordinator to resolve enrollment issues
    • Sell weeks of camp using strategic business plan

    Operations:

    • Maintain relationships and facility management with site school
    • Manage site budget
    • Point of contact for all medical issues, i.e. medical conditions, special needs, emergencies
    • Ensure compliance with county and state youth camp licensing
    • Provide oversight of camp logistics, special events, field trips and special guests
    • Conduct weekly team meetings and daily briefings with Leadership Team

     

    Experience Requirements

    • Experience with full-cycle recruiting (preferably high-volume)
    • Leadership background with previous experience supervising direct reports required
    • Prior experience working in a service or education-focused organization preferred
    • At least one year of experience working in an ESF Camp preferred
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office

    Education Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree or concentration in Human Resources, Education or a related concentration preferred

    • Outstanding communication skills which include the ability to use clear, concise and grammatically correct written and oral language in all aspects of professional interaction

    Working Conditions and Physical Requirements

    • Ability to push/pull, lift and carry a minimum of 35 lbs and climb stairs
    • Good physical condition which enables candidate to execute all responsibilities associated with this position
    • Willingness to work non-traditional hours during the summer months in order to open and close camp
    • Ability to run training events during occasional evenings and weekends leading up to the start of camp
